JERUSALEM (AP) Monica Lewinsky said Tuesday that she stormed offstage at a Jerusalem speaking event because of an interviewer's "off limits" question about former President Bill Clinton.
The former White House intern turned anti-bullying activist tweeted that there were agreed-upon parameters regarding the topics of her televised conversation Monday night with a well-known Israeli news anchor, following a conference speech she gave about the perils of the internet.
Lewinsky called Yonit Levi's first question about her relationship with Clinton a "blatant disregard for our agreement."
Levi, the main anchor of Israel's top-rated evening newscast, asked Lewinsky if she still expected a personal apology from Clinton over the fallout of the scandal of their affair 20 years ago. Lewinsky responded: "I'm so sorry. I'm not going to be able to do this." She then put down her microphone and walked offstage.

(1,159 posts)Might have been better to stay and call them on their b.s. during the broadcast, i.e. Why are you asking this question despite your promise and our agreement to discuss cyber-bullying, not the subject of the Ken Starr report. I would have waited for the hosts response then asked what that says about the hosts integrity. Thus, Lewinsky would have forewarned any future host who would try such a tactic with her.

(12,509 posts)That same question was asked the day before, and Lewinsky said that question is off limits. And an agreement was made to what was off limits. I do not see any ambiguity there.
But that lying Levi decided to try and embarrass her in public anyway, and hit her with an ambush question. I do not know if that is being naive, or just not used to having a so-called respected reporter actually LIE to her.
I wish she slapped that reporters hand out of the way. Levi would have deserved it. She is the type of reporter that gives the press a bad name. Scum like that probably reveal their sources.

(8,379 posts)But again, she is naive if she thinks anyone finds anything about her compelling other than her relationship to Bill Clinton. But now she's probably learned that lesson.

(13,340 posts)Not to put to fine a point on it, but she is famous for exactly ONE THING.
No one really gives a shit about her opinions otherwise. I mean, I sure she is a lovely, intelligent woman. But so are lots of women.
And I have to admit, I am curious why she kept that dress and didn't wash it. I mean..... ewwww. It's like she was saving it for a particular purpose.
Don't get me wrong... I have very little patience with Bill Clinton here. What he did was gross at best. But still....

(6,044 posts)She behaved foolishly regarding Clinton, and the resulting political and media firestorm destroyed her life for several years.
She has now risen above it to help others.
She and her mother reached out to the family of a young man who committed suicide after he was humiliated by someone secretly videotaping and making public an intimate act.

Good job walking out. Still, how you didn't expect it is beyond me. Dear reporter, save it for the end.
