(15,751 posts)This issue is so crucial to November. It is a winning issue. Seems that relatively few voters are aware of its implications. Even on DU, Russia-trump support gets relatively few comments; compared with less or non November issues, some of which get huge numbers of comments. Scary.

David Cay Johnson talks about his history with Trump going back decades, he is on Youtube.

(15,290 posts)It's a bit of a dry read as most of it is spent tracing the roots of the Russian mafia and oligarchs and their infiltration of the Italian mafia in the US. But the last few chapters get into the importance of Ukraine to Putin. It did a good job of showing Yanukovich and Manafort's role in keeping Ukraine solidly in Putin's control. It explains just how much money was flowing through Ukraine via the energy trade and how Putin arranged for natural gas to be bought low by his favored oligarchs and sold at market prices. It's easy to see how Manafort's clients were able to pay him so handsomely. It helps the reader understand why the change to the RNC platform regarding Ukraine was made and why it was important.
It also reveals how Trump, Manafort and Stone have known each other for many years and how Manafort and Stone were also disciples of Roy Cohn.
