From the article:
The Twitter accounts have a standardized format, all bearing the Amazon smile logo as their background.
Amazon says these employees are called "FC Ambassadors" who have experience working in the order-fulfillment centers.
It follows a series of horror stories about working conditions, including workers peeing in bottles over fears that using a restroom would cause them to miss performance targets.
Billionaire Bezos has a choice:
1) He can pay people a living wage, or
2) He can underpay and become even richer.
He chose option 2.
But because the media has written stories about Bezos externalizing his costs to the US taxpayers, Bezos decide to answer the stories by hiring some trolls to push a company line about how Amazon warehouse workers just love to work in the warehouse.

(46,166 posts)I was a customer since they just about only sold books. It was convenient. But after a recent bad experience with the company I've taken my business elsewhere and never looked back.
It's been great. I've shopped locally and some other places online. The only thing I get from Amazon is free books for my old kindle. F 'em.

(46,166 posts)For instance, I now order something directly from a company that sells via their own web site as well as at Amazon. Buying via their site, the price is the same with the same free shipping.
I'm sure that some things might cost a little more locally as time goes by. But hunting around I'm finding good deals. So all in all my decision has turned out well. Btw, Amazon hasn't always been the best deal. You have to be careful and compare pricing to be sure.

(6,401 posts)I would be surprised any company didn't use socialized media to their advantage and try to manipulate it. Hell, if I ran billion dollar company, I would be making damn sure media was in the positive. It's one of the reasons I look at the reviews of a product and take it with a grain of salt. I actually ignore the positive reviews and look at the negative.
