(5,815 posts)Fingers crossed that it's Ryan. Biden should be able to have that whippersnapper
begging for mercy. I know that Ryan thinks he is all that and a bag of chips, but
Biden has been around a long time. He is no pushover. I will be sitting on the
edge of my seat. Once details of that budget get parsed and rehashed, Ryan
might not be able to run for dog catcher. LOL All of us golden oldies will
come after him with canes and walkers. Medicare vouchers, indeed!

To be fair I'm behind a bit. After all, it's the bloody weekend. I was waxing my legs when this came down the pike!
What's his campaign thinking?!

(2,787 posts)However still a little concerned no matter how bad Biden makes him look. The media will still say Ryan won the debate just, because he didn't trip and fall off the stage. Chris Matthews has promoted the fallacy several times that Palin won the debate against Biden. Although Biden made her look like a complete idiot.

(39,384 posts)Joe's old school and he couldn't/wouldn't be seen as beating up the girl. He was slightly off balance in that debate.
This time, the gloves will be off. Tougher matchup intellectually, where Joe is no slouch, but very favorable in terms of emotion, where he shines.

(36,437 posts)He didn't have to beat up on her. He just let her expose herself and kept the kid gloves on.

(11,464 posts)Biden IMHO will win by not losing or by a TKO.
Irony is that age is indeed important in Ryan's plans, and Biden will have the demographic punch behind him.
the rightwing spin will attempt to side with Ryan, but Biden is a suprisingly great debater and should not lose Obama any sleep.
For all the silly rightwing talk of Biden making mistakes, that in actuality is a good thing, because it humanized him and people watching love that trait and the honesty Biden speaks day to day for his entire career.
Remember, Obama is the incumbent, and leading the race, so Romney needs more than Obama needs to win.
And I don't see any blue state moving red, and in fact, Florida should be easily attainable(if it wasn't already) with the seniors being scared of Ryan.
Picking Ryan must mean that the repubs are privately already conceeding the loss of Florida
(and without Florida, Obama will get way over 325 electoral votes, so really, Romney/Ryan is going down to defeat and Ryan's purpose probably will be to attempt to hold the house.
(Too bad Ryan can still run for house at same time).
