Henry Kissinger and Cindy McCain

Kissinger did not 'greet' Cindy McCain after he spoke at today's service,
as the other speakers had done.

She didn't look pleased when he got up to speak,
and she did not stand to 'greet' him as he returned to his seat.

Kissinger turned away from her to say hello to the former presidents.

Anyone know why?

She practically leaped from her seat and went several
steps to embrace President Obama with a warm smile.

. . . . . and can only speculate.

Was it admiration of him by McCain? I suspect not.

Were they friends? McCain had an incredible number of friends.

Was it because of Kissinger's refusal to take McCain home from Hanoi on the official US plane and instead leave him to be repatriate in proper order with his fellow POWs-an act McCain later thanked him for as having "saved my honor". I suspect this was it.
