None of our Council of State is African American, we do have legislative leadership and one large city mayor. I think it will be a long time coming even as Obama carried my state in 2008.

I would love to see the day when a Black or woman get elected governor of any state or President and there is a collective "meh, it happens a lot". One day we will get there, but I am afraid not in my lifetime.
