(58,785 posts)2. Gillum IS his own man, and no bernista, but the
endorsements he accepted to win the primary are already being spun as big weights to sink him with. Almost every headline is making this about Sanders. Whether just spinning to sell newspapers, or the insidious attacks many are, they're all misbranding Gillum as far left right out of the gate.
No doubt he knew this would happen and that he'd have to struggle to identify himself to the voters as solidly in the left of the Democratic mainstream IF he won. So, first things were first, and now here we are.
Go, Governor Andrew Gillum!
