Bernie Sanders
Congratulations to @AndrewGillum on his victory. Tonight, Floridians joined Andrew in standing up and demanding real change and showed our nation what is possible when we stand together. Let's make history this November and make Andrew Gillum the next Governor of Florida.

(32,640 posts)I think it's interesting that Sanders and Justin Fairfax were the out of state figures to endorse.
Justin came on early. Sanders came on after the polls showed that Gillum was pulling ahead.
In any case, HRC has only personally endorsed three candidates this year.
Obama has personally endorsed more candidates, but not in the primaries.

What does that have to do with these midterms?

(32,640 posts)She and the DNC gave him the spotlight at the convention.
He certainly was given a national audience by them, and I'm sure that helped to boost his credibility and popularity.
I imagine that Sanders may have been hesitant to endorse someone so associated with the establishment. That might explain why he waited to be one of the last endorsers, waiting until August, which was after polls showing Gillum pulling ahead.

Or it might be the fact that Gillum received at least $1M from Tom Steyer & $500K from Soros.
But accepting big money from big donors like Soros didn't cause Senator Sanders to balk at endorsing Tom Perriello, so nevermind.

is a step in the right direction. If it makes them feel better to give their candidate credit for a Our Revolution/Bernie Sanders win,so be it. It's all about unity. GO BLUE!

(32,640 posts)And to whom do they pray?
You're a newbie, maybe you bring with you some new information that Democrats on DU don't have.
In any case, it's good to see Sanders endorse someone who didn't endorse him. And to see him think that taking big donations from out of state billionaires doesn't make one a "corporatist" in the service of the "oligharcy."
That's the kind of unity Democrats need, even if it's from those outside the party.

Right now the big difference is Gillum actually speaks about issues while DeSantis can't seem to pry his lips off Thump's ample arse.

(10,830 posts)Encouraging voters from all our demographics to hit the polls in November. Black woman are the most reliable voting block in the Democratic Party. They get excited, the rest of us get excited.
And this is how we win!!

(297,277 posts)who surged for Andrew! The Democratic Base who BS said was "not the party of Workers but the party of "1%". That's insulting to our Dem Base.
It was the "overwhelming Black Democratic Base turnout that surged him to Victory"
....the Hillary Clinton wing, and the Sanders wing of the Democratic Party."
They also did an analysis on CNN of the victory, and say it was because of the overwhelming black turnout for him in the state.
It's a truly broad-based win for the entire Democratic Party and Gillum.

(6,280 posts).... "What's so divisive about the OP?"
This OP was clearly designed to agitate. What other possible motive could there be? A third grader can figure that out. My irrefutable proof is the thread itself. If one hasn't figured it out by then, perhaps a repeat of the second grade is in order.
