If you could go back in time and prevent the birth of one person who would it be?

Your time machine is a bit limited so you can't go back farther than 1900 so Hitler isn't an option.

Obviously he would be #1 if your machine could go back that far.

He and the Khmer Rouge were responsible for the deaths of perhaps 3,000,000 people...

smartphones and Facebook have probably been far worse for democracy than anything else in the last 50 years or so.

Trump is only my most recent trouble. Other situations have been worse (personally) and gone on far longer. I'd have been better off ... not being.

If none of you have ever hard of him it's because I've already gone back in time and killed him.

...and that killing him in the cradle, or when he was a corporal in WWI, would not have changed the arc of history much because he was only the manifestation of a virulent and systemic cultural infection, and that was what needed to be dealt with above all.

I could argue this or that point -- but that thought has really stuck with me.

My choice would be Rupert Murdoch because his media companies have been spreading the insane version of conservatism for decades to the whole English speaking world.

By doing so you stop two evils at once. Trump wouldn't be a problem if he wasn't the president.

Trump is an obvious choice but it only fixes things politically beginning November 2016.

If you go back to Oswald then maybe those political assassinations don't become a thing and Martin Luther King and Bobby Kennedy survive also. Probably prevents Nixon and Watergate. Maybe Reagan never happens.

If you have JFK alive and representing the party and its beliefs for another 30-40 years I have to think that is a massive positive and cannot be understated.

I'm a huge believer that one turn in the road now can change anything and everything later, far beyond what is typically accepted by conventional wisdom.
