I accept I cannot change things so I'm changing myself.

I will no longer accept the illusion Spanky has planted that his base will not change. He has spoken this untruth, believed it and claimed it as if it were true and I have worn this around my neck like a millstone for two years. I am now rejecting this dialogue and tossing this burden. Whether or not his base won’t change no longer matters because with every personal contact I make with the other side I will portray confidence and steadfastness and profess I am witnessing change amongst them and I am confident and relieved the tide is changing. I will tell them I am witnessing evidence in their lives and grateful they are returning to sanity. I will speak these truths as if they were truths. I will no longer allow them to claim they will not change.
The other day I posted on FB I was seeing Beto signs all over my right wing hood. I hadn’t seen the signs but folks didn’t know that. Now I’m seeing Beto signs and they are seeing them too. Speak the future you want as if it were true to every Spanky supporter you see.

Some years back a reporter did a story on attending a Government driving school. He did not know the names of his fellow students or the anacronyms of the agencies they worked for. The school taught how to drive in difficult situations...The biggest take away... if you lose control of the vehicle and it is headed for a tree, don't look at the tree. If you look at the tree you will almost certainly hit the tree. Look where you want to go. I have found this to be invaluable advice for life in general.

There are times I get overwhelmed but I hope to work for what I want and believe in rather than letting them drive my life’s narrative. It’s not concession. Just the opposite.

Stronger Together, as a wise woman once said.
