maybe the Mueller report, maybe more NY indictments and plea deals and immunity, maybe the accumulated weight of all the mass corruption being unveiled.

But not shame because only the shameless can abandon all their own heart felt Godly principles to embrace the adultery and the morals-free lifestyle of a charlatan, exactly because they have no shame.

We needed respect and rule of law to protect America until Trump was coronated, but now that that has happened, the only respect that matters is respect to our beloved and infallible leader. All other loyalties, such as to the Nation or to our Service Men are secondary. They are less than the dust of the earth compared to the magnificence of Trump!

Also, this may not be relavent, but I'm quite mad.

CHAPTER 10

PATRIOTIC CUSTOMS

§175. Position and manner of display

(m) In the event of the death of a present or former official of the government of any State, territory, or possession of the United States, the Governor of that State, territory, or possession may proclaim that the National flag shall be flown at half-staff. The flag shall be flown at half-staff thirty days from the death of the President or a former President; ten days from the day of death of the Vice President, the Chief Justice or a retired Chief Justice of the United States, or the Speaker of the House of Representatives; from the day of death until interment of an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, a Secretary of an executive or military department, a former Vice President, or the Governor of a State, territory, or possession; and on the day of death and the following day for a Member of Congress.

To point out RW hypocrisy.

Tradition breaks with the flag code in that flags are flown at half staff until internment.
I would say that lowering them for a longer period meets the minimal 48 hour requirement and more in a positive way.

Not sure why you posted this.

when it comes to the crimes Trump has commited? Traditionally, tax code violations get a slap on the wrist and a fine. Federal Campaign Funding law (US Code) violations get a fine. You OK following tradition on those rather than the clear wording of the US Code? Or do you want to pick and choose?

No need to reply. I already know.

So as not to violate the flag code.

Oh I'm sorry. I wasn't suppose to reply.

§178. Modification of rules and customs by President
Any rule or custom pertaining to the display of the flag of the United States of America, set forth herein, may be altered, modified, or repealed, or additional rules with respect thereto may be prescribed, by the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the United States, whenever he deems it to be appropriate or desirable; and any such alteration or additional rule shall be set forth in a proclamation.

and we would (now) like it as McCain is now our best buddy. We maybe would have felt different about that back in 2008.

Look, we know McCain and Trump didn't like each other. Why would we expect Trump to do something nice for him? To make us happy? I don't think Trump thinks that way.

Imagine if Trump had issued a proclamation saying the flag would never be lowered to half mast for any Democratic Member of Congress. That would also be within the bounds of this section of Code and within his authority. Wouldn't that be interesting?

Kneeling football players have nothing to do with military respect.

Kneeling football players have Every thing to do with military respect.
I am proud of them. It is our flag .... it belongs every one of us. The kneeling
is a show of respect for the flag. They care about the flag.

Kaepernick to kneel instead of sitting on the bench.
Nate Boyer, long snapper for the Seattle Seahawks asked that Kaepernick
kneel to show respect for the flag.

https://ftw.usatoday.com/2018/05/nfl-49ers-colin-kaepernick-national-anthem-protest-nate-boyer

“I expressed to him, maybe there’s a different way of demonstrating,
where you’re showing more respect for those who laid down their lives for
what that flag and anthem stand for,” Boyer said of his conversation with
Kaepernick. “I suggested kneeling, because people kneel to pray; we’ll
kneel in front of a fallen brother’s grave.”

I was not aware of this event and I appreciate this excellent point.

I have always been confused about displaying proper respect
and more than once I will be at an event where the national
anthem is being played and I cannot find the flag (especially in
gymnasiums) and I observe others who seem to care less.

and am encouraged by the brave players who have done so) is that Kaepernick even consulted with veterans before protesting to make sure that he found the approach most deferent to their service, and the advice he got was to do it the way he ultimately did it.

As to the GOP and Trump, yeah, well hypocrisy, integrity and consistency are all foreign concepts to them, and can continue to be as long as their voters have attention spans as long as a Trump tweet.
