Nothing like hearing the tornado siren going off at 1 am

despite the fact there are no indications of any tornadoes showing up on radar. We're under a severe thunderstorm warning but that's it. This is the 2nd time, this summer, that the emergency alert siren system was activated in error. At least the last time was mid-afternoon, unlike this middle of the night YIKES experience.

Well, guess I'll get up and anticipate enjoying the thunder storm.

I guess there were some 'straight line' winds in the area, but no funnel clouds. Nothing but rain and a bit of thunder, now.

Someone jumped the gun because they saw a small 'tail' on a cloud.

There were some strong wind gusts, but the storms weren't particularly strong - just persistent. I finally fell asleep, after 2:30, and there were still some rumbles and flashes.

It hit in the evening and I was born at 2, the next morning. My family thinks that might explain my category V temper.

every siren in the City turned on at midnite. I'm pretty sure the conclusion is that the system was hacked

In my state, there was a tornado at 1 am or so, and most people slept through the alarm-- deaths.

And off and on storms through Wednesday. Then things cool back down. Well, that's the forecast, anyway. The forecasting accuracy rate has been pretty pathetic, this Summer.

The heat doesn't bother me, as much as the humidity. Yesterday was just 82 but with an 80% humidity. An hour of yard work kicked my ass.

There were a few heavy gusts of wind, but these weren't even strong storms.

The problem with erring on the side of caution is, people stop taking the siren as authentic.
