Former Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chair Donna Brazile said Sunday that Republicans are more focused on impeachment than Democrats.
You know, Republicans are talking more about it than Democrats on the campaign trail, Brazile told George Stephanopoulos on ABC News This Week on Sunday morning.
Democrats are talking about pocketbook issues, she continued. We know that the American people want an alternative to the status quo right now.
Impeachment talk has ramped up since President Trumps former lawyer, Michael Cohen, pleaded guilty to campaign finance violations last Tuesday.

(8,445 posts)I think they're trying their hardest to make it appear that we're the ones mentioning the "I-word" so they can use it as a scare tactic to get Republicans out to vote.
They treat their voters like they're stupid, and their voters never catch on.

When I hear a Repub whining that Dems should "do something," all I see is a trap.

(11,744 posts)Impeachment, while a somewhat motivating factor in more progressive and politically involved circles (DU for example) is not a major issue in the general public. General public still wants to know what government is going to do with the economy to help them out, with health care, and other local issues. Democrats need to run on what resonates with their constituents. If that includes impeachment and or going to Washington to hold Trump and the GOP accountable, then go at it. If it means representing your district to bring back jobs or work on raising the minimum wage, then that is good too.
Republicans have two reasons to keep harping on the subject. The first is trying to scare their gullible constituencies into thinking that all the Democrats are doing is focusing on how to destroy Trump. Second reason is to possibly separate themselves from Trump in the sense of talking about it as a test balloon.
Republicans are devious and they are desperate. They have very little, if any, moral compass. They will say whatever it is that they need to do to eek out a victory so that they can continue serving their real constituency, the wealthy.
Brazile seems to be falling for the media "conflict" set up, hook, line, and sinker.
