RIP John McCain. I disagreed with many of his positions, but he was still a hero of mine. I was very happy that Obama won in 2008, but mainly because it meant Palin wouldn't get anywhere near the White House. If not for that, 2008 would have been an election year when I would have been very happy when the Democratic candidate won, but not terribly upset if the Republican won.

Many people here on DU are rightly praising him. But if you want to see how low the Trumpublicans have sunk, just check out the Fox News website. They've already turned the comments sections OFF for most of the McCain stories, due to negative comments. But the few stories where they've left comments on, the comments are almost 100% negative.
