Let's be honest... if you have an ounce of thoughtfulness or compassion for those you leave behind, you wouldn't want him at your funeral either, no matter how much you like his politics/policies. Even a Trump-humper, if they considered their own family and friends' grieving, would not want Trump at their funeral.

Trump is an abnormal, socially malevolent presence. He makes EVERYTHING about himself, which is ENTIRELY inappropriate for a funeral. He is totally incapable of comforting others. Every sentence out of his mouth is offensive, either obviously-scripted but poorly-delivered or nerve-grating in its callousness to the mourners and ignorance of the deceased. Watch any of the times he's spoken about deceased soldiers. It is an abomination, a poor imitation of humanoid behavior.

Former President Barack Obama, who beat McCain in the 2008 presidential contest said in a statement, “We saw our political battles, even, as a privilege, something noble, an opportunity to serve as stewards of those high ideals at home, and to advance them around the world. We saw this country as a place where anything is possible – and citizenship as our patriotic obligation to ensure it forever remains that way.”

but she wasn't responsible for the hate . that was already there. she did rile them up but SHE was never going to be president. she was treated as a joke by the media which she was .

Oh, we know the answer to that; gender.

I was as vocal as any in opposing that absolute trainwreck of a human being, but we all know that the media put her under a microscope that no male counterpart would ever receive. They did the same to Hillary in 2008 & 16.

I think he was holding his nose but she goosed his numbers a bit and he was pleased as punch with himself until the depth of her ineptitude became obvious to anyone with the barest of standards. It definitely goes down as a major liability on the life ledger.

Otoh, explicitly stiffing Trump at the funeral and requesting a eulogy from Obama flips the bird not only at him but at the nutjobs, too. I have to give him credit for that.

And when her ineptitude was exposed for all to see, it McCain lost any chance of winning the election. Ironic that campaign operatives Steve Schmidt and Nicole Wallace had pushed for Palin's selection, and it did not take long for them to figure out that a huge miscalculation had been made. Looking back, it can be argued that Sarah Palin assisted Obama in becoming President. And yes, I believe that McCain was keenly aware of this.

when a long time Senator who is suffering from a terrible, fatal illness, goes to the extent of making sure his family and everyone else knows that the so-called "President" is not welcome at his funeral?

It speaks volumes about how despised Trump is.

Trump isn't worthy enough to lick John McCain's boots let alone attend his funeral and eulogize him.
