Roger Stone, a former Donald Trump aide whos long been linked with special counsel Robert Muellers investigation into Russian election interference, said he believes one of the presidents sons, Donald Trump Jr., will soon be indicted for lying to the FBI.
I [predict], based on excellent sourcing, that the special counsel is going to charge Donald Trump Jr. with lying to the FBI, Stone told James Miller of the conservative online outlet The Political Insider. Notice theyre not charging him for having an illegal meeting with a Russian at Trump Tower because theres nothing illegal about that meeting.
Stone was referring to a controversial June 2016 Trump Tower meeting between Trump Jr. and other members of the campaign and a Russian lawyer who offered damaging information on then-candidate Trumps opponent, Hillary Clinton.
There has been, as yet, no confirmation that Trump Jr. had met with the FBI to discuss that or anything else. Stone did not immediately respond to a request from Newsweeks on Saturday to clarify his comments, and confirm whether he was aware of a previously unknown interview the FBI conducted with Trump Jr.

(7,396 posts)They only need immunity if they themselves have committed a crime & it benefits the prosecutors case to do so. (I have learned this week from listening to clips).
So why give immunity to Stone's aid? Must be in order to get Stone.

(5,271 posts)Stone is probably just hoping he can provoke Don Sr. to fire Mueller before he can indict Stone since Stone is next one in firing line for his conspiracy working with Russian hackers and Wikileaks.

(2,850 posts)An indictment for Jr wouldn't surprise me too much, but I don't believe that Stone has inside information. He probably wants to goad trump into firing Sessions to try to stop the Mueller probe.

(16,937 posts)Not really a problem.
We're spending millions "protecting" Tweedle-Dumb and Tweedle-Dumber as they fly around the world fleecing others on behalf of the family business.
It would be nothing for the agents to simply turn around and say, "Time's up!"

(2,154 posts)Repeating the lie that nothing happened at the June 2016 meeting so there's nothing to investigate. So it's a deep state conspiracy when the indictment tsunami rolls in. Disguised it in a bit of standard misdirection and targeted straight to the MAGAminds who've drunk the orange kool-ade

Ironic that a disciple of the anti-communist/anti-USSR Dick Nixon, now going to find comfort in the nation. But then again, maybe Tricky Dick had an inside connection to Breznev.
Just sayin.

Andrew Miller, who has worked on and off for Republican political operative Roger Stone for a decade, claims he has nothing to share with special counsel Robert Mueller. CNN's Sara Murray reports. CORRECTION: The headline and caption for this video were corrected to reflect that former Roger Stone aide Andrew Miller is resisting special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation.

Second, meeting with Russia is not a crime in itself. What is a crime, however, is if that meeting resulting in conspiracy (collusion) with Russia - that looks to be a real possibility.
