for tax purposes in that ive never had to pay either. But taxes will show a lot. For sure.

It’s not tax deductible by the person paying nor does the person receiving have to declare it as income.

At his income level adding a dependent wouldn’t make one bit of difference on his tax liabilities. A dependent makes a huge different for that single mom making 30,000. It makes zero difference for someone at his level.

And since people of his income level get audited for most returns as a mater of course something as glaring as declaring a dependent that doesn’t live with them would be something that would be caught quickly.

There would be no benefit at all, so I can’t inagine why he would do it or why his accounts would bother. Especially since it’s something he wants hidden.

it would be chump change. i am not sure about this, someone else may know current/recent law, but a lot of deductions get zeroed out at higher incomes. not sure about child deductions.
