EXCERPT:
SHAWN: "Lanny, youve been a long-time Clinton advisor and a lawyer for Hillary Clinton and close to Bill and Hillary Clinton. What do you say to those that there should be a special counsel investigating the Clintons, the DNC, the dossier, Christopher Steele and the way this was handled by the Department of Justice and the FBI officials, some of whom have been fired and certainly showed a distaste for Donald Trump becoming president of the United States?"
DAVIS: "First of all, you didnt state a single fact involving the Clintons. And although I have a lot of friends at Fox and have been a Fox guest on almost every show on Fox, that kind of rhetoric without facts is unfortunately too common on Fox shows. So, state me facts of what Bill or Hillary Clinton actually have done that would suggest anything illegal suggesting a special counsel."
SHAWN: "My question is your reaction to those who have called for that."
DAVIS: "Pure political speculation, rhetoric, but no facts. Thats my reaction."

It appears to be there form of "watermarking" the content, with a link to their paid site.

(11,257 posts)Others, including Seth Abramson, have been critical of his MSNBC interview for telegraphing Cohen's willingness to give up Trump through the media. I was also concerned with his frequent reminders of his political differences with Cohen and Trump.
Lanny Davis needs to be Cohen's lawyer, not a political operative. And for the record, Davis isn't a great Democrat. His willingness to represent foreign dictators is shameful.

(1,683 posts)In the end, if Cohen has information that incriminates Trump, Mueller will put it to use and lower Cohen's sentence, irrespective of how he notifies Mueller's office that his client is ready to give up Trump. Sure, Mueller would prefer that this not be aired publicly, but again, the end result will be based on Mueller's determination of the usefulness of the information.
Edited to add: Davis' role is to be the public representative of Cohen, a role that he and the other attorney (whose role is as Cohen's legal technician) work on together as a part of an overall strategy mixing straight legal work with a planned PR element.

(11,257 posts)Mueller has been really careful to keep his investigation leak proof and apolitical. This doesn't help.
Seth Abramson had a pretty good twitter thread on this:

(9,865 posts)His opening statement to Maddow was "I've wanted to be on your show for a long time"? Is he a media hog? Not okay for the gravity of what we face and the need for credibility.
His appearing at all really shocked me and does not seem helpful to Mueller. Further, since the Russians seem to be involved, I think it makes Cohen and his family less safe. Does Cohen now have 24 hour protection?

(11,257 posts)Mueller runs such a tight ship. He couldn't have been happy with much of that interview.
