(58,785 posts)claiming millions were outraged over solar power and defendable power grids, outraged at expecting loyal Americans to sign up for training programs for good new jobs instead of bringing back the dead jobs they have a right to, and outraged at how a $15/hour minimum wage has been eroding American values. With talking heads pushing the approved group think and false equivalencies all day and evening to the 1 in 100 who provide themselves for it.
Then there would have been the 5 new major scandals Judicial Watch boasted of having all designed and ready to launch once Hillary was elected. (Taking her out was extremely bad for their business.)
The usual.

(81,466 posts)Bill AND Hillary.
And all anyone's been able to come up with, on either or both of them - from Whitewater to Benghazi - has been a single stained blue dress.
Hillary Clinton was once asked about being the most investigated couple in national politics. She wisely pointed out that they're also the most exonerated couple in that time, because they were cleared in every single case - except for Bill Clinton, of course. But he was convicted of lying - about sex with a consenting adult.
They'd investigate her - AGAIN AND AGAIN, and they'd STILL find nothing. You'd think with the ferociousness of the ways they've attacked her and gone after her, again and again, and ALL the time AND money they've spent trying to find dirty, they'd certainly have found something by now. After all that. And there's been NOTHING.

(58,785 posts)And the right's. This became not credible and unworthy a long time ago for many on the right. Yet most continued to bear false witness to increasingly contemptible slimes and slurs, not out of belief but partisan loyalty. I was actually satisfied with putting those who didn't finally say no through 8 more years of what they've done to themselves. Should they choose.
Oh, well. Not my choice to give them a break.

(81,466 posts)As much as I believe in her skills, talents, experience, wisdom, brilliance, compassion, creativity, and ingenuity, and as much as both our country and the whole world need her! I hurt when I think of what weve missed - what weve been denied. And I know full well how all the haters ache to kick her around and carve her up - and tie her up and burn her at the fucking stake if they thought they could get away with it. Im sure the persecution would amp up like crazy if she were elected, and the obstruction would be worse than for President Obama. Probably times 100. So if she doesnt run again, then the best part is - THEY CANT HURT HER ANYMORE!!! And for that alone Id be grateful.
Shes certainly never gonna go to Hell when she dies. Been there, done that. Because the bad guys have already forced it on her during this life.
I actually get a wee bit of satisfaction thinking ahead to whenever it is that Bill & Hillary have quit this mortal coil. Who will they persecute when that day comes? Those fuckers will be SO bummed. Bereft! Crushed! Devastated! And I will smile and laugh through THEIR tears.
God I hate those bastards.

(58,785 posts)(it really is one for the history books and reams of studies) to continue until it finally burned itself out, to reach a point where the less inclined were sick of the whole thing and it finally became too disreputable to reveal.
And I did expect that to happen over time as our policies continued improving national wellbeing and anxiety over the future calmed somewhat. Remember, Hillary's national approval ratings were quite high, up into the 70s, as senator and SoS. We can expect them to climb again when she no longer has to avoid distracting attention from the Republican Party's crimes and resumes her life in more public public service.
As for the worst of them, I wish Hillary herself on those too addicted to their Hillary hate, or even just dislike, to let it go. I want them to be frequently unhappy from seeing her prospering in the news and from having to swallow their bile among others.
Lol. Inflicting them on themselves is mild enough revenge. They're extremely fortunate I can't cast spells.

(4,341 posts)I am not a psychiatrist or anything remotely, but I have always been interested in human behaviour, and when something like this happens I have to wonder what goes inside someone like Cohen's mind when he tweets something like that to Hillary Clinton.
He has to know of all the wrongdoing he is involved in, the ones with trump and those personal to him and his taxi business.
Same as Flynn, yelling "Lock her up", he also said "if I had done one tenth of what she has done, I bet I would be in jail.", well, it turns out she has not done anything and you have done a lot so you are going to be "locked up"..."lock him up...etc."
Don't these people have consciences? Don't they understand they have done a lot of wrong? And maybe not, because the criminal mind does work very different than the normal mind. Criminals never see their actions as bad, just as means to an end, they also have no concept of consequences, and that is also what makes trump one of them.
Interesting, to say the least.
Nitram
(22,877 posts)of the very crimes he commits. I suspect it is a version of "the best defense is a good offense."
Mr.Bill
(24,319 posts)That's why the threat of jail or even the death sentence does not deter some criminals. They are just not wired to consider consequences for their actions. And the longer they continue their behavior without anything bad happening to them the worse they get. Trump is the poster child for this mental disease.
And 60 million people think this makes him a great man.

(14,494 posts)you must be on their pre-approved list to send them mail and for in-person visits. Also very limited on printed matter that can be sent and all mail is inspected. They're limited on the number of people on their lists and that's usually family and close friends.
Once you find out where he's sent, you can go on their web site and read that jail's specific rules.

(8,445 posts)I had forgotten about those prison rules. Someone who was once in our lives spent a few years in prison, and now that you mention it, I do recall that before I wrote to him he had to put me on his list. He was in the same facility as Blagojevich ended up in. Blagojevich arrived shortly before the guy I know was released, but he never met him.
This guy spent approximately 36 months in prison. It seemed like an eternity. I hated it, and I wasn't the one incarcerated, so I can only imagine what he went through. Of course he did the crime, so he deserved to do the time. Cohen's sentence may seem short to a lot of people. He won't enjoy it. He will hate every minute.
KY_EnviroGuy
(14,494 posts)an alcohol recovery program. I sponsored them through their prison time and one died there. As you say, it's rough as hell on everyone, especially the families - and very expensive for them. It's also pure hell for prisoners that have health problems.
Sending books and magazines is usually by approval only and the books go into the library - and cannot have any metal staples. All goods had to be shipped from a company, not individuals (to prevent contraband).
The prison visits were quite a shocking and emotional experience. One time, we visited in an open outdoor yard where we could smoke and talk in private, and the guy I was visiting kissed a little tree in the yard. That's how isolated he had been. That same guy also got on his knees and kissed the ground outside the gate on the day he was released, when I went to pick him up.
Sure taught me to avoid getting locked up at any cost.....

(8,445 posts)He was my daughter's boyfriend, and I gave her and my grandson rides. I hated that my grandson saw his father in that situation. You're so right about what hell it is for the families. My grandson was in a deep depression the whole time his dad was incarcerated, and even for awhile after he got out. My daughter and the guy broke up shortly after he was released. He's really no longer in my life, though he has a good relationship with my grandson.
A lot of bad things happened, yet I miss the life we all used to have together. My grandson tells me that his dad thinks the world of me. I think the world of the parts of him that I loved, but I have to honor my daughter's feelings first and foremost.
And yes, you're so right about how expensive it is for the families.
I enjoyed reading your post. Thank you.

(9,350 posts)Is it not crazy that a number of the people who were making jokes about Hillary Clinton going to jail are the ones going to jail. "The stakes on November 8th could not be higher. A vote for Hillary is a vote to surrender our government to public corruption, graft and cronyism that threatens the very foundations of our Constitutional system. What makes us exceptional is that we are a nation of laws, and that we are all equal under those laws Hillary's corruption shreds that foundational principle. Public Corruption is a grave and profound threat to a Democracy. Government corruption spreads outward, like a cancer, and infects the operations of government itself. If the corruption is not removed, then the people are not able to have faith in their government."
