FLIPPABLE: Kathy Wiejaczka for MI-HD101

ommitted to Family: I’ve been married to Kent for 42 years. We have three adult children who graduated from Glen Lake Community Schools. We believe in the importance of extended family – my mother lived with us for 24 years.

Committed to Community: I have lived in Empire Township for 36 years and currently give back to the community in several areas. I was appointed to seats on the Empire Zoning Board of Appeals and the Leelanau County Solid Waste Council. I was a captain for the Voters Not Politicians anti-gerrymandering petition drive for Leelanau County. I am a precinct delegate for Empire Township, an American Cancer Society volunteer driver, and an active member of St. Philip Catholic Church in Empire.

Committed to Caring for People: I worked as a registered nurse for 39 years. I have experience as a pediatric charge nurse, in obstetrics, as a mental health nurse, a special education school nurse, a hospital supervisor, a home care nurse, and as a nursing instructor.

Committed to Small Business Growth: As co-owner of our family-run construction business with my husband Kent for 32 years, I could be seen pounding nails or hauling lumber with our kids when I was not working as a nurse.
