FLIPPABLE: Dr. Sheryl Kennedy for MI-HD48
Dr. Sheryl Kennedy is entering her 30th year in public education as a public school administrator and university lecturer. Over those 30 years, Sheryl served 22 of them as a local teacher before becoming an administrator in the Birmingham and Walled Lake School Districts. She has led her current school to be a State and National School of Character, and moved her diverse, at-risk school to a place of academic success.
Serving the last 30 years, as a scholar of public administration, Dr. Kennedy has watched as those who presume to "know better" have drained the coffers of Michigan's general fund on the backs of local government, public schools, health and human services, and small business. Every legislative change not based in research has resulted in a waste of tax dollars with little or negative impact on those organizations they are trying to "fix."
Dr. Kennedy views herself as a moderate, fiscally responsible Democrat, who simply wants to be a voice of common sense as a representative for Michigan's 48th District, her lifelong home.
She values every tax dollar, and believes that with a focus on real outcomes and researched-based practices in all areas, WE CAN DO BETTER.
Sheryl has been married for 25 years to Mike Kennedy, and has three adult children - David (Megan), Joseph (Stefanie), and Karissa. Sheryl is a 6th generation resident of our district. Mike is a 3rd generation resident of Davison. David and Joe have chosen their life partners from their home community as well.
