A jury will decide the fate of Paul Manafort, the former campaign manager of Donald Trump.
There are 18 charges against him and there are documents to back up the charges. From reports, some of the jury were very suspicious of Rick Gates, but there were other credible witnesses, also.
With the present environment, where some people would be OK with Trump, even if he shot someone on Fifth Avenue. One of them may be on the jury??
With the evidence that has been presented, it should be a slam-dunk case. However, if the trump love is strong, who knows if the jury will be unanimous??
But, if the jury comes back with a guilty plea against Manafort, look out for the fireworks coming out of the White House. Manafort is close to the trump family jewels. He knows other people that did business with a certain bank in Cyprus.
One cannot help but think of the phrase: there is no honor amongst thieves.

(34,457 posts)Its a hung jury rather than an acquittal.
2) although we dont know what happened during the strange pauses/courtroom sealing, the evidence is strong and based more on documents than on people.
3) the average education level of Alexandria residents is a bachelors degree or above. The jurors are likely to be very smart and careful.

(8,785 posts)I think Manafort should be convicted and want a conviction that does as much damage to Trump as possible.
But a hung jury is well within the realm of possibility.

(18,634 posts)and 80 - 90% of Republicans strongly approve of him, it's nearly certain that some of the jurors are Trumpbots which could severely affect their evaluation of the evidence.

(23,761 posts)18% for trump stil a possibility of a juror or two who hangs the jury
spooky3
(34,457 posts)Trumpers than that 30%, plus both sides were able to strike potential jurors that gave clues that they could be biased.

Alexandrians who support Trump are mostly white males in high income brackets and in conservative religions. The jury is 50% female.
