(1,201 posts)I trust Putin when he says I would never..."=Trump Trump has already invited his spies into the oval office with cameras and mikes. How stupid is that...unless you're already a traitor. Why is it so hard for his supporters to accept what is right in front of their eyes. Is it so hard to admit you were wrong?

(4,353 posts)(Ha! No I won't tell you my age!) an admission of making a mistake or doing something that is wrong in any way, is very hard for some people to acknowledge. Trying to get them to correct their mistake is practically an impossibility. Even so, hopefully, if they do recognize their bad judgement, they either stay home next election day or vote with our side. At this point, I'll take either and consider it a win for us.

"In late 2016, federal agents showed up at the Fort Myers, Florida, homes of brothers Brian and Edward Krassenstein, seizing computers and financial records, and hauling off at least 20 to 30 bundles of stuff.
At the time, the story was just a notable blip on local medias crime blotter. But in the two years since, the Krassensteins have become more than a pair of local businessmen. Theyre now prominent members of the online anti-Trump resistance.

(81,267 posts)Otherwise therell be no discouragement factor - no cost, no penalty, no reason NOT to do it again.
We need some serious and solid behavior modification to discourage others from trying to get away with shit like this in the future.
If there are no consequences for pulling shit like this, for this much corruption, this many scandals, this many lies, this much deceit, this much treachery and treasonous behavior, then well all have to live through this again.
Thats one genuinely serious and urgent reason why we MUST impeach.
After all, the very penalty of impeachment has been trashed and poisoned and utterly defiled and turned into a dirty joke. Why? Because the last President who faced impeachment was impeached for lying about sex.
Impeached for lying about sex.
Lying about a blow job, to be specific. An illicit one with a consenting adult not his wife. So thats the new low bar thats been set on the previously dead-serious penalty of impeachment. Thats what we impeached a president for. Thats the low, pathetic ridiculous and embarrassing travesty the GOP turned it into. It reduced the whole thing to a circus. A shrieking freak show. Thats what those damn CONS turned it into. A freakin JOKE.
If impeachment is to have ANY meaning as a corrective, a disciplinary or punitive measure for truly egregious crimes against ones oath to Constitution and country, genuine and deliberate high crimes and misdemeanors and damn near (if not verified) treasonous offenses - in MULTIPLES, then we HAVE TO impeach trump. Assuming the Dems take back the House.
Impeachment has to mean something beyond a tawdry joke whose details you can still only tiptoe around in polite company while snickering. Which is where the CONS left it.
The whole idea of impeachment needs to be complete rehabilitated if its to mean ANYTHING. Thats why trump has to be impeached. Even if it gets stopped in the Senate. We HAVE TO leave donald trump with that permanent blemish by his name in all the history books for the rest of time.

(75 posts)"ooh oooh Dems better let up on the Russia stuff, polling doesn't support it"
What the hell? Is polling now how we decide if crimes are committed? If punishment is warranted? We determine right from wrong based on polls?????
What's the message then, just let all the criminals get away with it?

(81,267 posts)Yeah. Let's just give 'em a pass, 'eh? You can even do treason, fraternizing with the enemy, GIVING SECRETS AWAY to the enemy, and hey, we're okay with that...
NO. We CAN'T. WE CANNOT BE OKAY WITH THAT. And if we DON'T impeach, we're saying we ARE.

(6,831 posts)That Director Brennan will still be briefed, if even informally, by those people who understand how valuable his insight is. We're talking about decades of institutional and historical memory here. People like John Brennan, William Clapper, Richard Clark, Michael Hayden are the only reasons I am able to sleep at night during this clown-car, train-wreck of an administration. They will ALWAYS have America's back. These men are true patriots and their integrity is not up for sale, unlike trump.
