Vermont primary turnout highest highest since 2010

According to WCAX News calculations, the voter turnout in Tuesday's primary was almost 22 percent, making it the highest turnout since 2010.

The secretary of state's website reported that 103,666 people cast ballots for a Republican or Democratic gubernatorial candidate.

As of July 31, there were 473,442 people registered to vote in Vermont, yielding a 21.89 percent voter turnout.

Voter turnout percentages:
2016: 11.45%
2014: 8.95%
2012: 12.2%
2010: 23.8%
