I think what Brennan tweeted about Trump yesterday morning may have played a part
in the timing of the WH announcing his security clearance has been revoked.
As pointed out elsewhere, today's statement from Trump was dated 7/26, just a few days after he floated the idea of doing this.
I'm sure they've held back on announcing this until they needed a distraction, and they really needed one now.
But I also believe Trump really wanted to hit back at Brennan for what he tweeted yesterday, commenting on Trump calling Omarosa a dog:

Its astounding how often you fail to live up to minimum standards of decency, civility, & probity. Seems like you will never understand what it means to be president, nor what it takes to be a good, decent, & honest person. So disheartening, so dangerous for our Nation.
I really don't believe Trump cares all that much any more when people tell him his actions and words aren't presidential. In fact, he mocks the idea of acting presidential.
But what Brennan told him in effect was that he was worthless and would always be worthless.
And Trump has always been deeply insecure, beneath his narcissistic bluster.
That tweet might have hit him harder than anything Brennan wrote about him earlier.
