This should put his crosscheck BS even more under a national magnifying glass and give us a better shot at getting a Democrat in as governor in Kansas.
I could be wrong here though. Any thoughts?

(7,522 posts)That's obvious I know but we don't need any more amoral, cheating POS in office than we got now. Don't know about his primary opponent but he couldn't be worse than Kobach.

(11,631 posts)I been a little gunshy about rooting for the completely ridiculous unelectable candidate on the GOP side since Trump got elected.

(1,798 posts)Kansas elect him.
I wouldn't expect the deplorables that make up the majority of this state to vote any other way. The guy could be caught talking with trump about bringing back slavery and nothing would change this reality.

(29,674 posts)The biggest county, voted for Colyer and said they refuse to vote for Kobach. Most are afraid of his plans to basically privatize public schools and cut funding to almost nothing.

(31,261 posts)In Florida, unaffiliated voters can't participate in primaries. Do Kansas allow unaffiliated voters to vote in primaries? Also, what is the ration of Dems to repughs, to indies in Kansas?

(29,674 posts)I'm an hour over the border in Missouri but I don't think they allow crossover primary voting between parties. I believe you have to declare a party in advance.
Missouri you declare a party at the polls. You don't have to say out loud-just point to the logo/mascot picture at sign in.

Dems. 95,788
Repugs. 186,376
Indies. 140,376
Indies outnumbered Dems in every county but two or three.
So, what happens in November depends upon what Indies did in the primary. An indie can declare at the polls, but if they choose republican, they have to join the Republican Party. If a lot of Colyer's vote was anti Kobach indies that declared to defeat him, the November race could be real close.

(6,377 posts)I get the Democratic excitement because he's a more "beatable" candidate, but it's Kansas, so the Republican who came out of the primary starts off with a huge advantage.
