Let me just put this out there . . . . . How could Mueller not indict Trump if . . . . . .

. . . . . what is obvious to anyone with the ability to discern, read, and comprehend is what it appears to be. That Donald Trump welcomed and encouraged the Russians to interfere with, involve themselves with, and manipulate the 2016 US presidential election is pretty much beyond question.

Sure, others in his orbit were in it up to their eyeballs. But there can be no question that Trump was at the center of it all.

Many are calling what he did treason. I'm not at all sure that would be the appropriate charge. In fact, I have no idea what the appropriate charge should be. It seems reasonable that anyone who manipulated or conspired to manipulate the election to make himself president could be said to have staged a bloodless coup d'etat. At its simplest, it is probably conspiracy to defraud the United States. Whatever it is it, it is serious. Grave.

Nixon was an unidicted coconspirator. Trump is waaaaaaay beyond that.

How can he not be indicted?

his resignation. Otherwise, I think he might well have been indicted and faced charges after leaving office.

I've seen enough constitutional scholars making the case that a President COULD be indicted while in office, even if prosecution was made to wait until removed from office or the end of his term--that I tend to think this dogma to the contrary is waaay overstated.

I'm not saying trump is not guilty or that he should not be convicted, but he won't be impeached for that (unless maybe we win the House big, but Senate likely will not cooperate), and you'd never get a jury to convict him unanimously in court unless there's more than asking the Russians to tell lies, contribute to NRA, launder money, etc.

Personally, I'd just like Mueller to release a report with everything he has on trump and let the voters decide in November. Big Democratic win and trump and GOPers are neutered. If voters aren't stunned and continue voting for GOPers, we are in big trouble. I would like M to continue going after kids and other GOPers who might be convicted.

Especially if the Democrats only win the House. We must win Both the House & Senate!

But even then, Drumpf still has far too much power, and can certainly make many things worse.

My biggest concern would be the voting systems on election day. And very little is being done on that, for obvious reasons.

I just don't see any consequences.

Shrub, Cheney, Rove, et al....LIED this country into an unnecessary war, that cost Thousands of American soldiers' lives, and 100's of Thousands of Iraqi lives, and what came of it? Shrub is looked upon as a saint now, compared to Drumpf. And he was clearly a war criminal, who was surely despised by many other world leaders. Sound familiar?

The rule of law is not dead in this country. At least for you and me. We still would suffer consequences for our actions, but these people are apparently above the law. And as the can gets kicked down the road, the nation goes further down the rabbit hole, with no sign of recovery.

The election in November is a means to halt, or at least minimize the damage. But it won't be easy to undo everything that has been done, and it will still be difficult to achieve any sort of revenge or justice on the perpetrators. They are using Every aspect of the power they achieved illegally to further their endeavors.

That 42% (amazingly...the CNN poll results) think he is doing a good job. Got to have some influence on his fate. Trump certainly lucked out...republican Congress/Senate. But his biggest gift was Obama straightening out the economy.
