I'm convinced they are setting Pence up for a run in 2020

I've been wrong before the but media is starting to be all lovie dovie with Pence while they slam Trump. And I am of the firm belief Pence would be far far worse for the country.

My prediction is they know Trump is either going down hard or simply will fade off into the Twittersphere by 2020 if not sooner and have decided to gear Pence up for the image. There have been a lot of these media dates lately.

He's their last clean cut, devoid of morality issues, solid "conservative", no back history, etc. icon.

He can be a switch hitter, if shit goes bad for Dump and the base walks away...then he's the "I stayed true to my country and God. Did what I could to persuade Trump on the good things, yadda yadda...but I am the true conservative because I stayed loyal, yakity yak..." But if the base stays loyal to Dump "I was there with him, helped him in the worst of times, he was a victim as he was business man first and didn't understand the burden of politics, bullshit and more bullshit".

With Dump, you are lucky to find a clean spot on him, with Pence, in regard to "conservative values", you are lucky to find a speck on him.

If Pence or his backers want publicity, they contact the media and get it covered. And it's likely they will only do that if it's positive coverage.

If he is being set up to run, it is the GOP or some faction within it that is doing it.
