Once the government finishes, the judge will askManafort's lawyers if they plan to put on evidence,
and if so, an estimate for how long that'll take. Then
we'll go to closing arguments and jury instructions, and
then the jury will deliberate. Stay tuned.

(8,652 posts)Some may be complicated, like some of the bank fraud. But other charges are relatively easy, like Manafort signed his IRS tax return knowing his income was understated. How the fuck can any juror find him not guilty of that?
I expect that Manafort will be found guilty of at least 8 charges, if not all of them.
And, as far as this investigation is concerned, eight is enough.

(8,652 posts)There will be ample convictions of Manafort, and this investigation will end with Trump's resignation. I have faith in our system.
As dark as these days are, this country has pulled through much worse.
I lived through 1968. Assassinations, riots, demonstrations, a foreign war with a draft. I lived through Watergate. This is first hand history.
My mother (who is still with us), was born in 1929 as a daughter of Italian immigrants. She lived through the depression and WWII. And let me tell you something, there were days in 1942 and 1943 that winning that war was not a certainty, according to her and her siblings. And 30 years ago, my uncles and father who fought in that war, talked about that uncertainty and the fear that griped this country, both during the depression and the war. I'm sure there must have been some real anxiety during the Civil War and the run up to it. Yes, this country has faced some trying moments in our history, but the system endures. No orange faced moron can destroy this country. Have faith. We will not only persevere during these dark days, but when it is over, we will be stronger for it, for we will have learned another lesson.

(13,524 posts)So I guess first thing tomorrow, Manaforts people bring in any witnesses they might be presenting - then closing arguments (I read earlier that Judge Ellis will allow each side two hours for closing remarks)
Then - !!??!!????
