Uh oh. Someone is afraid that John Kasich is going to challenge him for the nomination in 2020.

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump
The very unpopular Governor of Ohio (and failed presidential candidate) @JohnKasich hurt Troy Balderson’s recent win by tamping down enthusiasm for an otherwise great candidate. Even Kasich’s Lt. Governor lost Gov. race because of his unpopularity. Credit to Troy on the BIG WIN!

Er, Kasich has like a 57% approval rating... not a fan but he certainly isn't "unpopular". phleshdef Aug 2018 #3

Temperamentally yes, but policy-wise, absolutely not. GOTV Democratic 2020!

Any challenge to his authority or position is to be viewed as a THREAT to him.

Of course he's going to trash Kasich as well as any other GOPer who might consider challenging him. By the way, Spanky -- Balderson didn't get a BIG WIN. Balderson is ahead by 1%, and 3,400 provisional ballots still need to be reviewed and more than 5,000 absentee ballots haven't been counted yet. If the margin is small enough after all these ballots are counted there will be a recount. Big win, my fat pink ass - but Trump has to put an absurd spin on everything.

If Trump can get a credible challenger like Kasich or Sasse, particularly 1 on 1. I think Trump has the advantage, but they could put a dent in him.

Kasich and Sasse aren't incompetent lunatics like Trump, but they are nevertheless very conservative and we sure don't want them in the White House. It worries me that a "normal" GOPer might be tougher to beat in 2020.
