What Laura Ingraham said was awful. And unsurprising.

By SE Cupp/CNN Updated 4:38 PM ET, Thu August 9, 2018

(CNN)-At the end of her monologue Wednesday night, Fox News host Laura Ingraham issued a dire warning to the country: "This is a national emergency, and we must demand that Congress act now."

The national emergency wasn't weather-related. It wasn't a shortage of medicine or food. It wasn't a cyberattack or terrorist threat.
It was, instead, "massive demographic changes." What once might have been a dog whistle is officially a scream, voiced over the airwaves of the President's favorite cable news network. It's a sad commentary on Trump's America.

"Massive demographic changes have been foisted upon the American people, and they are changes that none of us ever voted for, and most of us don't like. From Virginia to California, we see stark examples of how radically, in some ways, the country has changed."

Who "us" means is also clear: Fox News viewers, who are predominantly 65 and older and white. I know many of those viewers, and I'm sad to say that message probably resonated with a lot of them.

Ingraham grew up in Glastonbury, Connecticut, where she was born to Anne Caroline (née Kozak) and James Frederick Ingraham III.[3] Her maternal grandparents were Polish immigrants, and her father was of Irish and English ancestry.[4]

Right wing ideology is utterly dependent upon racism and sexism. Absent racism alone, the Republican Party would cease to be viable.

They sure as hell do nothing good for average Americans.

Its all about hate and racism, period and bending over the public for the billionaires that own that fascist party.

the most egregious racist outbursts from it's stars. But with stars like tucker Carlson, Laura Ingram and Jesse Watters that's a pretty tall order. I bet their advertisers are pissed. Those darker skinned folks are becoming an important market sector for them.

And there are plenty of folks of Irish, Jewish, and Italian descent that understand that their ancestors arrival "changed" America. And the know-nothings of that era hated it. Well, fuck 'em.
