Nate McMurray, the Democratic candidate for the 27th Congressional District, said his disappointment in the recent arrest of his Republican opponent U.S. Rep. Christopher Collins, "turned to anger" after Collins spoke to media Wednesday night.
"People now understand that we're going to win," said McMurray, currently the town supervisor of Grand Island in Erie County.
McMurray said when news broke about the arrests, he didn't want to gloat or take joy in the misfortune of others, but said he felt Rep. Collins was more concerned about his family and friends than those who elected him to the post.
In short, McMurray likened the allegations of insider trading to a student who cheats on a test. "If you get the answers in advance, it's cheating," he said. "He doesn't think the rules apply to him."
In the past 24 hours, McMurray said tens of thousands of dollars have been donated to his campaign, and that the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee reached out to partner with McMurray's team, already in place.

Now, you guys, IF.. IF you can and if you wish, PLEASE donate to Nate's campaign. It is a true grass roots effort and before Collins quit I think Nate had raised something like only $88,000.(Don't quote me.) Even this AM at the press conference they were still waiting for an order of 400 T-Shirts. LOL.. But I got 4 bumper stickers.
I am just a lowly volunteer. But I believe this guy can win this RED RED district....
