Al Franken/Facebook Post: "I had asked Trump's HHS nominee, Tom Price about the insider deal he got"

Today in corruption: Trump's first congressional endorser, Rep. Chris Collins (R-NY) was arrested for insider trading. I had asked Trump's HHS nominee, Tom Price, about the insider deal he got on the same stock during his confirmation hearing.

Secretary Price, of course, also went on to get busted for corruption. A different kind of corruption than the kind favored by EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt, though. Which is also different than Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross's corruption, which has to do with his failure to divest holdings in various entities, many of which are linked to extremely sketchy Russians. And make sure not to confuse Price, Pruitt, and Ross's corruption with Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke's involvement in a shady real estate deal with the chairman of Halliburton. Although Secretary Zinke’s extensive abuse of taxpayer money to pay for stuff like helicopter flights and his egomaniacal insistence on flying his own personal flag above the Interior building do kind of remind me of Pruitt. In any case, you can add to the list of Cabinet scandals the just-broken ProPublica story about how three Mar-A-Lago members with no military experience are secretly running the VA.

And, of course, none of this has anything to do with the crime spree that has the President's campaign manager on trial, where the President's deputy campaign manager—who pleaded guilty to his own crimes—is the star witness. Which is an entirely separate scandal from the one where the President is currently pocketing millions from foreign governments in violation of the emoluments clause. And the one where the President, his family, and his campaign may have illegally colluded with Russia to win the election, which is related to the one where the President is constantly obstructing justice. And those are all separate from whatever the hell Michael Cohen was up to.

The good news is, Linda McMahon seems to be running a tight ship at the Small Business Administration (though Linda McMahon and her husband are the top donors to the phony Trump Foundation….which is a whole other legal mess….)

over innuendo, unproven accusations and need for self-promotion.

Franken was a jewel in our crown and we allowed him to be bullied out of office. I will not forget.

I will not forget.
And I will not... forgive. He was bullied and railroaded by an unthinking mob. He was denied the investigation he requested, he was denied due process and "his day in court". He saw the writing on the wall, and knew that by fighting for what was right, it would create MORE division within the party rather than falling on his own sword for the greater good of the party's unity. We are worse off without him.

His questioning was responsible for Sessions having to recuse himself from the Mueller investigation. He would have been on the committee questioning Kavenaugh.

Now, he won’t be.

colleagues did to him. What a great loss for us all and it was done for political expediency, something I expect from republicans, not Democrats.

People make mistakes and I can be forgiving, but the lack of apology and regret from some makes forgiveness impossible.

expressing regrets that they were too quick in calling for Franken's resignation. Admitting you were wrong is a sign of character worth acknowledging. Doubling down on a bad decision indicates maybe some people should find another profession and certainly shouldn't even think about occupying the White House.

President Obama had so much class and was capable of apologizing with dignity. Some of these White House wannabees should study his example, though I'm not sure it can be taught. Meanwhile, the next poor Democrat that gets taken down over false accusations, might be one of them.

I have sent back numerous requests for money saying that I would be glad to contribute when I hear/see an apology to Al Franken for the injustice done to him.

By the way--to the one poster who only comes on here to bash Al Franken every time someone speaks in his defense--I know your routine by heart by now. You can save yourself the trouble.

They need to grow a spine and admit they overreacted. The longer they go without apologizing, the harder it will be. If it could happen to Al, it could happen to any of them.

Good for you, keeping up with the Franken basher. Some people seem to only make appearances when certain subjects come up, much too predictable.

And we’d be in much worse shape if not for Senator Al Franken. I still find it disturbing that the Dems would not afford Al due process he respectfully ask for, was entitled to and might I say earned. Who among us is perfect? Stones and glass houses and all that. He pulled a goofy stunt as a fucking comedian years and years ago. He apologized. He was sincere. He owned what he did. We were confident that he was the victim of a hatchet job and he was still cut loose. We can’t afford to do that. We really can’t.

Same one he's been perfecting since Bill Clinton.

Notice how Repub sexploiters are rarely so scandalized by the Repub Party?
