(108,995 posts)They'll be battling it out again in November.
And in Dave Reichert's district, the combined votes of the three Democrats in the primary are greater than the combined votes for Dino Rossi and other Republicans.
Senator Maria Cantwell, whom some out-of-state DUers love to disparage, got 55% of the vote (and our primaries include members of all parties on the ballot). The Repub who will go on to the general got only 23% -- and she's a former newscaster, so she's well known.
It was a great night for Dems in WA.

(58,719 posts)I was a little worried that the Dem vote might get diluted, but we stepped up for Maria. Between her and Patty Murray I feel I have two strong advocates for my VA needs among other things.

(58,719 posts)In WA08, 05, 03 I believe that the Dems combined collected over 50% of the votes. Repubs were top vote getters, but only polled in the 40's.
I hope we can flip at least 2 of those seats.
05 is Eastern WA and has been red for a while, but contains Spokane (one of larger cities in state) and Pullman (college town).
08 is central and includes a lot of Trump country, but big population centers around Auburn and Wenatchee. Never been blue BTW. It's about time.
