and, in retrospect, I think Kasich made the difference, not Trump. It all came down to Delaware County, an affluent and moderate Republican bastion. It's Kasich country, not Trump. Gov. Kasich served as the Congressman in this district before becoming Governor. The Republicans rejected the Trump guy in the primary for a moderate (at the time) who more resembled Kasich than Trump. Kasich cutting a commercial in the last week for Balderson, I think, turned Delaware County from a push to a plus 8 republican county.
Now, don't get me wrong, this still may be a win. There are 8,500 votes still uncounted, provisional and absentee, so there is a chance of an O'Conner win. But, even if Danny can't pull it out this time, he'll get a second bight of the apple in November.
I hate moral victories. Coming close, but a seat goes the other way still pisses me off. But, still, moving this lily white, Republican district (it has a Republican representing it in all but 2 years, dating back to 1939), to a one point loss is an accomplishment of epic proportions.
But, let me again say I missed this one and the margin of error is as a result of my heart.
