Andrew Napolitano explains why Trump Jr. could go to jail for meeting with Russians:

Napolitano continued: “He’s investigating whether or not the people from the Trump campaign entered into an agreement to receive dirt [on] Hillary, whether the dirt was received or not. The crime — if there were a crime — is receiving anything of value from a foreign person entity or government, if there is an agreement to do that.”

“You may argue and I’ve argued this unsuccessfully that an agreement that ends up not being carried out shouldn’t be a crime but it is,” he added. “It’s the prosecutor’s favorite crime, it’s called conspiracy. It’s the easiest to prove, all you need to know is who agreed and that one of them took a step in furtherance of the agreement.”

Doesn't matter (well, it does in terms of sentencing of course) whether your wife actually ends up offed.

Or it's like when you arrange to meet a girl at a motel that you think is 14 ... but then you get there and it turns out 'she' ... is really a 47 y.o. Male FBI agent and bunch of his colleagues.

Don't matter if things were 'consummated' as it were, you a guilty of conspiracy to commit a crime which is only slightly less severe than the actual commission of the crime, legally-speaking.

BTW, have you guys heard the Nutter's little conspiracy theory that the whole meeting was a setup involving Loretta Lynch getting paid to let the Russian Lawyer into the country, and Ron Dellums (RIP) somehow facilitating the meet-up? They imagine it was all a ruse, an Obama/Hillary sting-operation thingie.

Seriously ... some of them buy this bullshit story even though it falls completely apart if you even remotely start pondering why it makes NO SENSE.
