Basically there's a right wing group in Portland called Patriot Prayer and the Proud Boys who have been making far right wing protests on a regular basis for the better part of a year. A few weeks ago there was a protest where antifascists came out to counter protest, but wound up with a few of them being injured. Videos of some of the counter protesters being beat down surfaced and it made a mockery of the leftist protesters.

Looks like the antifascists have come prepared this time but it appears that the police have cordoned them off appropriately so that either side can just yell at each other, so it shouldn't go down like last time, where the protesters got too close to one another and physical altercations happened.

The antifascists are not there to start a fight, they are there to protect people who are attacked. It's defensive. But somehow because they come wearing gear (remember, the police have gear and the fascists are using the police for their work), they are "instigators." Nothing further could be from the truth. Every side has people who will attack the other side.

But the Patriot Prayer and Proud Boys people actually have guns on them.
