'It's an absolute disgrace': tears and anger as wife of US marine deported to Mexico

Alejandra Juarez forced to leave husband and daughters in Florida after exhausting all options to stop her deportation

The 16-year-old American daughter of a US marine held back tears as long as she could before her family was split in two.

Her mother, Alejandra Juarez, was finally leaving for Mexico, rather than be sent off in handcuffs, after exhausting all options to stop her deportation.

“My mom is a good person. She’s not a criminal,” Pamela said, cursing at the immigration agency before her mother checked in on Friday for her flight from Orlando international airport.

Alejandra and Temo Juarez, a naturalized citizen who runs a roofing business, quietly raised Pamela and their nine-year-old daughter, Estela, in the central Florida town of Davenport until a 2013 traffic stop exposed her legal status.

Afterward, she regularly checked in with US Immigration and Customs officials, which typically went after higher-priority targets like people with criminal records.

had introduced legislation to stop her deportation.

Soto on Thursday said letters were sent to President Trump and government agencies asking for a stay of removal. "If the president really claims to support veterans, he should stand with the Juarez family and reconsider Alejandra's deportation," Soto said in a statement. "While Mr. Juarez was abroad fighting to defend our country, Mrs. Juarez was at home raising his daughters, serving in the same manner as military spouses do across our nation."

The Davenport resident has no criminal record but faced a removal order over her 1998 illegal entry into the United States, Soto said. She's married to a former Marine and Iraq War veteran, and they have two girls, ages 8 and 16, who are US citizens ...

Soto said he's disappointed by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement's decision ...

However, the children will learn a life changing and important lesson. They may grow up dem activitlsts for all I know. Also, they can always visit their mom in Mexico. In fact, they can even move closer to the border and see each other daily.

My heart goes out to toddlers in jails, children locked up in internment camps who are abused, drugged, malnurished daily. By all accounts, the kids in OP have a good life. Let them never forget who their father voted for and let this empower them for the good of our country.

Sort of like the reaction, I imagine, to the state trooper who spent part of the day making loops around one block near where I live. All he did was pull over people for not signaling a lane change as they turned right and then cut across two lanes of traffic to reach a freeway entrance ramp.

"What? Pulled over for not signaling?" Yes. On the other hand, in the last year they've swept up glass maybe a dozen times and replaced the crosswalk pole twice because of people running into each other in that 200-foot stretch of road.

This is "broken windows" policing applied to immigration enforcement.

They assumed because hubby was a veteran that they were going to get special treatment. You post just reinforces the idea that veteran's deserve special cosideration.

in the family of an American citizen. And I don't care how they became an American citizen. If the family is here and living their life here together as a family and one is a citizen, the government needs to leave them the hell alone.

But, yes, I think its especially outrageous when you do it to someone who has put on the uniform of our country and served, particularly when you use our military as a political prop. They were really stupid to vote for him.

Freaking republicans should just shut up, and stop pissing on America's POWS, Gold Star Families, and Veterans. Disgraceful what the five-time republican draft dodger does with the full submissive approval of the republican party. Disgraceful.
