Get what he was doing here, perhaps not knowing what he was doing it: Accusing of discrimination while demanding that the deciding factor for support be rooted in discrimination.
It was Poppy BUSH with the Clarence THOMAS nomination that pioneered the gambit of nominees drawn from usually Democratic constituencies, putting Dems superficially in a bind.
The answer is simple: For Dems to oppose solely on the basis of Wingnuttiness, apart from race/ethnicity.
