A national no vote on the whole enchilada is a very real possibility. UPS overplayed their hand, said Nick Perry, a delivery driver in Columbus, Ohio. Credit: UPS Teamsters United

There are no flashy special effects in Tyler Binders 12-minute video, Why the UPS 2018 contract sucks!
No stirring soundtrack, no animation, no laugh track. Its just him and his whiteboard, explaining in plain language how the tentative agreement would affect every group of workers.
But the video went viral. Just two weeks after he uploaded it, it had 90,000 views on Facebook and 50,000 on YouTube.
Binder, a Wisconsin delivery driver, didnt expect to become a Teamster folk hero. He just wanted to help his fellow union members evaluate the deal that negotiator Denis Taylor is presenting as the best ever.

(182,826 posts)We hold a lot of stock in UPS and I know several people who work for UPS Freight - formerly Overnite.

(58,785 posts)bumpy ride or no, and more appropriate wages won't lower your returns much. After all, UPS is in competition with our magnificent 243-year-old USPS.
Just wish I could buy stock in THAT. As mostly a patriotic gesture, or alternative to U.S. bonds, of course. I'd do it if I could, even though the Republicans are trying to destroy it and may succeed if we don't care enough.
Go, Teamsters!

(182,826 posts)Yes I know that effects the bottom line I'm just worried about UPS in general.

(58,785 posts)attention recently. Republicans have been cannibalizing the USPS to help UPSetc and destroy the USPS, of course, and that's about when I last tuned in.
(I was pretty sure it wasn't wobbling of stock prices you were thinking of, btw.)

(182,826 posts)Yes the Repugs are trying to trash the USPS but UPS and Fed Ex can't replace it and have said so. They don't have the capacity to go to every door every day. As you probably know, USPS and UPS contract with each other every day from bulk to one-off deliveries Brown doesn't want to make.
UPS Freight is at capacity now. They are bleeding off less profitable customer contracts.

(58,785 posts)as expected. My loyalties are solidly with our wonderful USPS, of course, but I hope UPS does comes through okay.
We shop on line and still reasonably frequently get UPS deliveries here on our rural hill. You're welcome, and btw it'd be helpful if they'd add hauling cardboard away to their services. You'll be happy to know that most of your drivers have learned to back down our driveway to a turnaround point, and we even rather recently took pity on them and limbed up a rather low-branching tree over the drive.
