Barack and Michelle back on the scene to promote "greater empathy and understanding between peoples"

Barack and Michelle Obama will return to public life by way of a multiyear contract with Netflix to produce films, TV series, and documentaries that promote "greater empathy and understanding between peoples". Under the deal, whose financial terms were not released, the former President and First Lady are expected to split time in front of and behind the camera.Traditionally former presidents channel their message through book deal: Penguin Random House will publish the Obamas' White House memoirs for $65Million. But the 44th president, who has kept a low profile during Trump's presidency, will now have access to Netflix's 125Million global subscribers. The Obamas said they hope to use "the power of storytelling to help us open our minds and hearts to others".
