This is what Trump says. He says this because he always puts himself in a situation where he can declare a win no matter what the outcome.
For example: He sent the IC community out yesterday to say that he is doing something to prevent interference by Russia in the Midterms and last night he calls this Russian thing a hoax.
He's positioned safely on both sides of the issue now. He's pleasing his supporters by calling it a hoax and declaring fake news and he's playing to his detractors that say he is doing nothing to prevent further interference by Russia.
He does this with almost all of the issues. He places himself on both sides so no matter what happens he can declare that he was right. Hence the win.
And you know what - I am sick of this winning.
I'm also quite sick of "winning."

(18,636 posts)I've found there are two separate White House policy statements. One comes from the staff in the form of an official release, the other from the figurehead on Twitter. The two often conflict giving insight to how disarrayed the Executive Branch is. Every day must have a red alert moment.

(25,253 posts)Again - in Trump's mind he can be on both sides of an issue and no matter the outcome he can say he was right.
You know - this guy can never admit he was wrong.

(18,636 posts)I think the White House operates as a separate entity headed by the likes of Kelly and Miller while Trump watches Fox News, eats cheeseburgers, and tweets angrily. I believe he's only vaguely aware of what goes on behind the curtain. They constantly have the need to "clarify" his off the wall statements.
