Have 1 camera, 1 journalist... Isn't that the set up for all kinds of WH activities? Why waste reporters time. Questions ARE NOT answered honestly or just ignored. Whatever is said is a lie. Haven't you guys figured that out yet. The same for the disgusting antics when he does a rally. Bare bones coverage... no one watches or cares anyway.

(115,732 posts)Maybe the networks should just tell Trump that they don't want to put their people in danger so they won't be covering his rallies any more.

(15,682 posts)There's no way he gives up the cameras and reporters. He'd have to tell his deplorables to shut the fuck up and behave themselves. What fun that would be to witness. Tehehe.

(25,252 posts)at the media if they weren't covering his rallies. He uses the media as a prop and it works for him all the time. It's time the media got wise to his act and quit cooperating with him and being used. They are accessories to his madness.

(30,481 posts)I also think it's very important to report on the voice of the WH. How it's reported is up to the outlets and reporters.

(50,559 posts)Just send the camera. Have the most liberal school of government in the country evaluate all the lies, and just publish the counts. Presidential Spokesperson Sarah Huckabee told 500 lies and 12 non-lies at her daily briefing this afternoon. The lies break down as follows: 127 technical lies, 42 half truths, 65 complete fabrications and the rest were fucking bullshit.

(2,068 posts)It would be a gift to have no media to "hassle" them. The media needs to be there in force and keep pushing and do not take no for an answer. Anything else is leading to a full dictatorship.

(52,252 posts)reporters should certainly go and observe and record the lies and smears and denials and so on.
what they should *not* do is then simply report "white house says x". that shouldn't be the headline or the thrust of the story.
if it's a lie, then the story should be "white house lies again about x" and should focus more on things like the fact that the white house lies, how often, why they lie, the effects of the lies, the need to resist and counter the lies, etc. deep in the story, there's the *truth* about x, and only then, the lie, an explanation for how it's wrong, and in summary, a repetition and reminder of the actual truth.
when there's a serious, honest white house, simply reporting "white house says x" might be a good strategy. but the constant lying takes huge advantage of this. the media is being used and abused and donnie will continue to do so until the media figures out how to not be played for fools constantly.

(3,435 posts)....rallies. George Lakoff : "When you repeat Trump, you help Trump. You do this by spreading his message wide and far."
"Think about it: every time Trump issues a mean tweet or utters a shocking statement, millions of people begin to obsess over his words. Reporters make it the top headline. Cable TV panels talk about it for hours. Horrified Democrats and progressives share the stories online, making sure to repeat the nastiest statements in order to refute them. While this response is understandable, it works in favor of Trump.
