Senate Democrats Strike Back And Force Vote To Kill Trump Junk Insurance Plans

Senate Democrats have announced a plan to force a vote on legislation that would kill Trump’s junk insurance plans rule and protect coverage for people with preexisting conditions.

The Senate Democrats announced their plan in a statement provided to PoliticusUSA:

Senate Democrats announced plans to introduce new legislation today – in accordance with the Congressional Review Act – to overturn the Trump administration’s final “junk insurance” plan rule, which expands so-called short-term health care plans that are not required to cover vital protections for people with pre-existing conditions, among other essential health benefits. According to experts, the administration’s new rule would raise premiums and reduce plan choices for individuals with pre-existing conditions and employees in the regular insurance market and put insurance companies back in charge, allowing them to deny coverage to people with pre-existing conditions or refuse to cover other vital services like prescription drugs, maternity care, emergency room services, substance use disorder treatment and more.

The Senate Democrats’ new resolution of disapproval, which is being led by Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), would rescind the Trump administration’s rule and maintain these vital health care protections that Republicans in Congress and the administration are attempting to eliminate. Congressional Review Act (CRA) disapproval resolutions allow Congress to overturn regulatory actions taken by federal agencies with a simple majority vote in both chambers. In accordance with the Congressional Review Act, the Senators will formally introduce the resolution after the rule is submitted to both houses of Congress and published in the federal register and then force a vote within 60 legislative days. Earlier this year, Senate Democrats successfully passed a disapproval resolution under the CRA to protect net neutrality with bipartisan support.

Senate Democrats are fighting to make sure that people can get quality, affordable health care instead of the junk that Donald Trump is trying to pass off as health insurance. Democrats are also battling to make sure that millions of Americans with preexisting conditions can keep their insurance coverage. Past polling has revealed that health care is the top issue on the minds of voters as they head to the polls.

Republicans have an Obamacare problem, and Democrats are sending a loud message to voters that they are the party who will fight for your healthcare.

I really hope that they can get this through the Senate.

But even more importantly, I hope the public will realize that we Democrats are on their side on this issue, as well as many others.

for a burst appendix. I listened to some of what it covered, cost etc and if you have any pre-existting condition you can not get it. Even a pregnancy is considered a pre-existing condition to some insurance plans. I am sure a lot of idiots will fall for it. They are the ones who had no idea that the ACA and Obamacare were the same thing until after the election and then they finally woke up...too late folks! Vote Dem and that won't happen.
