Bannon says Trump should fire Rosenstein if he doesn't provide documents in 72 hours

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is “clearly obstructing justice” and should be fired if he does not produce documents sought by Congress, President Trump’s former chief strategist Stephen Bannon has told The Hill.

Trump should order Rosenstein to turn over all documents sought from the Department of Justice within 72 hours, Bannon said.

“If he doesn’t do it in 72 hours, he’s fired. I’d fire him.”

Bannon spoke to The Hill on Wednesday, amid a renewed press from Trump and his allies to strike back against the legal challenges confronting the president.

The man has done more heart stopping crystal than any outlaw motorcycle club (combined).
Mussolini hanging upside down comes to mind when he finally goes.

with Serbian nationalists as part of his ambitions to build a European far-right populist force. Sounds harmless enough to me....

Perhaps some day he'll simply disappear after associating with one too many dangerous characters.

Last September, Steve Bannon told 60 Minutes, “There’s nothing to the Russia investigation” ...

... Bannon toured Western Europe, dispensing his rough-edged benediction on Italy’s far right. He spoke at a rally for France’s fascist-tinged National Front (“let them call you racist…wear it as a badge of honor”). He met with a leader of Germany’s far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD). And he praised Hungary’s Viktor Orbán (“a real patriot and a real hero”), whose fascist-leaning, Islamophobic ruling Fidesz party leans toward Putin. Next door, the far-right Freedom Party of Austria has established a five-year cooperation agreement with Putin’s United Russia party ...

... what does Bannon know about the role of Erik Prince, brother of Education Secretary Betsy DeVos and purveyor of mercenary armies, and his Russia connections? Prince, a Bannon ally, took part in a pair of meetings being scrutinized by Mueller. One involved Kushner, Gen. Michael Flynn, and Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan (aka MBZ), the crown prince of Abu Dhabi and de facto ruler of the United Arab Emirates, who held a meeting in Trump Tower in December 2016, a meeting also attended by Bannon. For the second, a month later, Prince flew halfway around the world for a meeting in the Seychelles, an Indian Ocean archipelago, where he met Kirill Dmitriev, a senior Russian financier, at the behest of MBZ.

... "I think it changed maybe $100,000 worth of Facebook ads? Give me a break. The meddling was on the margin," Bannon said, responding to recent reports that former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper argues Russia likely swung the election to Trump in his forthcoming memoir.

"And collusion, they haven't found one shred of evidence," Bannon added. Special counsel Robert Mueller is investigating Russia's efforts to interfere in the 2016 election, as well as potential coordination between Russia and the Trump campaign ...

11. Alexander Dugin and Bannon's Ideological Ties to Putin's Russia

... A former banker turned film producer and right-wing polemicist, Bannon has praised not only Russian President Vladimir Putin but also a brand of Russian mystical conservative nationalism known as Eurasianism, which is the closest the Kremlin has to a state ideology. Eurasianism proclaims that Russia’s destiny is to lead all Slavic and Turkic people in a grand empire to resist corrupt Western values. Its main proponent is Alexander Dugin, a Russian political scientist. Dugin’s philosophy glorifies the Russian empire—while Bannon and the conservative website he formerly led, Breitbart News, revived the “America First” slogan, which Trump later adopted in his campaign.

... Bannon and Dugin have something in common: They both believe global elites have conspired against ordinary people. Their enemies: secularism, multiculturalism, egalitarianism. In both Bannon’s and Dugin’s worldview, the true global ideological struggle is not between Russia and the United States but between culturally homogenous groups founded on Judeo-Christian values practicing humane capitalism on one side and, on the other, an international crony-capitalist network of bankers and big business ...

... Bannon—though he once worked at Goldman Sachs—reportedly described himself as a “Leninist” who wanted to “destroy the state.” And Dugin was the founder of the radical nationalist National Bolshevik Party, whose members have been imprisoned for attempting to foment armed uprisings among Russian minorities in former Soviet republics such as Kazakhstan ...
