30. My 24 year old son hadn't heard Macho Man

so, without telling him who recorded it, I played it for him on youtube. He said the song was the gayest thing he's ever heard. (also that there is no such thing as gay music)

He didn't recognize the group until I played YMCA.

So now I'm thinking that whoever chose the song was being ironic.

Then again, when Village People were popular, I had no idea they were gay. I thought they were costumed as friends of the working class. I also thought they were a great example of people of different races working together and being friends.
