Okay, are we all in agreement that this "QAnon" thing is undoubtedly just lazy Russian trolling?

Everything about it just suggests it's just Russian trolls having at it with gullible, dumb Americans who will believe anything on social media that supports their beliefs.

It's not even their top shelf stuff. In fact, it's pretty lazy even by Russian online propaganda product standards. But there are plenty of people out there who will still eat it all up. (See my other post today about the nagging propensity of "likefarming" on Facebook).

And no doubt there are some guys over in Russia who are getting an absolute kick at how stupid people are. Just as they were in November 2016.

The chans and other fora like them is exactly where you find the 400 pounders in their parents basement. Horrible places full of stupid people, I doubt this one has anything to do with the ruskis. At least initially anyway but as you say it is lazy, low level stuff. Not their usual MO.

And not just Americans as these places are global and anonymous but it has been floating around for at least a year and at first it seemed like a troll, it's a sort of game they play among themselves. I forget the specific language they use but basically it is a big subculture on these type of boards.
And no doubt as it has gained followers it has probably gained paid disruptors too.

In the end you are right, it is a thoroughly sad commentary of the state of affairs not only in the USA but globally.

Their trolls probably supply the bulk of the traffic and lies. They amplify it.

swarm that was timed with the rally. They wanted to push through the mainstream and it’s sort of worked.

My Husband used to like to read those forums on REDDIT and other places but he says those forums are nothing but an online cult filled with crazy conspiracies and cult like predictions.

Some have formed into a nut pack called "QAnon." Who cares what they call themselves? Who cares what "cause" they claim to stand for? They're insane!

Who knew there were so many mental cases in America? Who knew they were so mentally deranged?

And who knew that a creature like Trump could so easily call them out into the open to light the flames of fury and carry his torch of hatred.

It's a weird coalition of nutcase folks, ranging from incels and juggalos to 4chan script kiddies and assorted other misfits, ne'er-do-wells and wackadoos.

The only thing they have in common is a willingness to believe almost any conspiracy theory they hear, regardless of how ridiculous it might be. A few of these folks are able to go outdoors and attend events, but most do all their rabble-rousing sitting in front of a out of date computer in their parents' basement.

All you have to do is look at the Twitter hashtag #qanon for a while and you'll see that I'm correct.
