He calls Putin President Putin. He calls Kim Chairman Kim but he always says Obama for the two term elected President of the United States.
His hatred of President Obama is the reason he's going down. It has consumed him. Good.

(38,439 posts)Whatever is the reason that he goes down, it needs to be soon. He is not thinking straight.
No, I think his hatred FUELS him.

(6,377 posts)People have been saying that Trump is going down for over a year and a half now. He's still here, and he'll still be here tomorrow.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see him resign. But I'll believe it when I see it.

(65,134 posts)You thought an elected POTUS was going to actually be taken down in less than 18 months?
That seems a little unrealistic.
On another note: Time for our front office to get off their high horse and get the first freakin' round draft pick into camp instead of pinching pennies over the new helmet rule.
bearsfootball516
(6,377 posts)But it's not uncommon to see posts here every week from people saying that they think Trump isn't going to last much longer. Especially when he was first elected, there were a lot of posters saying they didn't think he'd make it to 6 months, 1 year, etc.
And I totally agree with you. Get him in camp.

(10,038 posts)What Im hoping for with the November election is control of the House and at least a slim majority in the Senate. Hell still be able to do damage, but Dems can block a border wall, prevent lifetime appointments for extremist federal judges, and block any new Supreme Court nominees. Even if the House holds impeachment hearings, the votes to impeach will not be in the Senate, which doesnt mean that the House should not do its job. Trump needs to have the stain of impeachment as part of his legacy.
greymattermom
(5,754 posts)Is perjury in those hearings a crime? Will the liars be called to testify? Maybe there are outcomes short of impeachment that would be helpful.

(8,200 posts)They can't accept the fact that this man is ruthless and without a shred of conscience. The vast majority of those who support him have the same moral standards. That is why he was elected in spite of his gross sexual behavior. They simply ignore that he is a racist, liar, charlatan, womanizer, and base scoundrel without any morals. They have been so brainwashed by the radical right wing that they view anyone who opposes him and their radical racist party as immoral, un-American liberals. They are so disillusioned they are convinced that they are the grass roots protectors of our nation. It is impossible for them to grasp that they are being led down the path of to a fascist government in which the will be little better than slaves of the oligarchs. I have posted the 14 Characteristic of Fascism several times on this board that were written Professor Britt published 2003. This is not a new development. It is what the Republican Party have been pursueing even prior to the Reagan presidency. Increasingly, people such as former Secretary of State Madilyn Albright, are finally acknowledging the obvious fact. Hopefully it isn't too late.

(838 posts)That offhand 5th Avenue comment has been frighteningly accurate thus far.
He doesn't care about the rule of law, and neither do his followers. He will claim corruption on whatever comes to light about the Russian conspiracy and any other illegal activities. He will rally his followers and they will flock to his defense...and I fear about what will happen next.
We are not dealing with rational here. You think he's just gonna put up is hands and say "Yeah, got me" when the results of Mueller's investigation comes out? I don't.

I've been around since Harry Truman, and NEVER heard a sitting POTUS show such ( if any) malice toward his campaign opponent. This is a very sick man without an iota of class or common sense. I truly hope that "lock her up!" bites him hard on the ass. I'll settle for just getting him OUT, but I'd love to see the truly deserving one get actually locked up.

I believe Trump's wildest dream is to bait President Obama into a direct twitter response. Trump would shift into political orgasm mode trying to excoriate the Kenyan usurper. The only problem is President Obama has too much class to lower himself to Trump's level and take the bait.

(58,785 posts)because he hates the comparisons people make with a real president and is trying to diminish him. Certainly Trump's only ideology is "me" and "I want."
He's malicious and is enjoying dismantling all of Obama's legacy that he can (Obama's important legacy is completely untouchable!) out of spite. He does it as an exercise of personal power. And he does it because the right wants it and he enjoys tossing these nice meaty bones to buy political support and feed his base.
But all his actions are always intensely shallow and about him, and I suspect that above all he's -- pathetically -- just doing it for the same reason he'd dismantle a taller statue than his own.
