It hit me last night

He calls Putin President Putin. He calls Kim Chairman Kim but he always says Obama for the two term elected President of the United States.
His hatred of President Obama is the reason he's going down. It has consumed him. Good.

What I’m hoping for with the November election is control of the House and at least a slim majority in the Senate. He’ll still be able to do damage, but Dems can block a border wall, prevent lifetime appointments for extremist federal judges, and block any new Supreme Court nominees. Even if the House holds impeachment hearings, the votes to impeach will not be in the Senate, which doesn’t mean that the House should not do its job. Trump needs to have the stain of impeachment as part of his legacy.

They can't accept the fact that this man is ruthless and without a shred of conscience. The vast majority of those who support him have the same moral standards. That is why he was elected in spite of his gross sexual behavior. They simply ignore that he is a racist, liar, charlatan, womanizer, and base scoundrel without any morals. They have been so brainwashed by the radical right wing that they view anyone who opposes him and their radical racist party as immoral, un-American liberals. They are so disillusioned they are convinced that they are the grass roots protectors of our nation. It is impossible for them to grasp that they are being led down the path of to a fascist government in which the will be little better than slaves of the oligarchs. I have posted the 14 Characteristic of Fascism several times on this board that were written Professor Britt published 2003. This is not a new development. It is what the Republican Party have been pursueing even prior to the Reagan presidency. Increasingly, people such as former Secretary of State Madilyn Albright, are finally acknowledging the obvious fact. Hopefully it isn't too late.

because he hates the comparisons people make with a real president and is trying to diminish him. Certainly Trump's only ideology is "me" and "I want."

He's malicious and is enjoying dismantling all of Obama's legacy that he can (Obama's important legacy is completely untouchable!) out of spite. He does it as an exercise of personal power. And he does it because the right wants it and he enjoys tossing these nice meaty bones to buy political support and feed his base.

But all his actions are always intensely shallow and about him, and I suspect that above all he's -- pathetically -- just doing it for the same reason he'd dismantle a taller statue than his own.
