Trump supporters are nothing more than classic Dead Enders. They are the real deal when it comes to irrational beliefs. Most are likely evangelicals who are breathlessly awaiting the end of the world. No amount of fact will ever modify their thought pattern. They are totally invested in trump. Not only do they not know how to cleanse themselves of his influence, they dont want to.
The crazed screaming at CNNs Jim Acosta is just a microcosm of the Dead Enders trumpism fetish. There simply is no hope for these types of people. Once you fall into the trap of evangelicalism you are likely to fall into the hopelessly demented view of the world trump espouses. This tiny cultish segment of the population is receiving altogether much to much attention.
The Hannity, Jones and Fox triangle of trumper fetish is the deliverance sound track running in the background. That soundtrack informs, infuses and inflames the life challenged deep state wingers that populate a shrinking element in our society. This is classic cult behavior writ large. Writ large only because they have attracted outsized attention due to their bizarre behavior.
It can be argued that it is actually a good thing that we are seeing national attention being focused on this segment of our society. It will motivate the normal populace to engage in that most important citizen duty, voting. So dont feel dismay as you watch these folk act out, they know not what they do. They need your understanding, sympathy and gentle prodding toward fact and away from illusion and self destructive beliefs and behavior.
An interesting note in this goofy season before the November midterm election. It seems the Koch brothers are beginning to realize the damage their extremist machinations have wrought and are slowly backtracking in a desperate effort to seem rational and not be pinned to the whirlwind that is coming to take down trumpism.

(15,751 posts)This was the kind of fear that fostered the Electoral College. The idea, my language here, that vested property owners would opt for stability, over mob 'sensibilities'.
Unfortunately, the Electoral College got corrupted over time.
