CNN Responds to Trump: "We demand better" - re CNN Press being denied access at WH event.

CNN reporter says White House officials told her, “You are dis-invited from the press availability in the Rose Garden today. They said that the questions I asked were inappbropriate for that venue. And they said I was shouting."

What @KaitlinCollins asked Trump, hours before being "disinvited" from Rose Garden event:

— "Did Michael Cohen betray you, Mr. President?"

— "Are you worried about what is on the other tapes?"

— "Why is Vladimir Putin not accepting your invitation?"

Essentially they have been rolling over against this administration because they are afraid they will lose their access.

It is their job to ask tough questions, and they need to stand up together against this

We will see tomorrow if they ask the question why were those questions inappropriate, and follow through

and my criticism to the press is because most of them haven’t been doing their job.

From Iraq has WMDs, to the N.Y. Times blaming the Democrats for causing the republicans to reject climate change, they have been playing the false equivalency fallacy game for too long that this was bound to happen

It is about time the press actually stand up for freedom of the press

Will this be the straw that breaks the camels back and they will finally speak out together and in force?

I guess you didn't note the courage of AP's Jonathan LeMire and Reuters' Jeff Mason at the Helsinki "summit"? They, with professional finesse, asked so bold that the answers drove the news cycle for a week or more.

I guess you don't see Jim Acosta (CNN) insulted and threatened every day. I guess you simply don't watch the WH briefings.

I'm not going to detail everything, but you are very wrong. Those WH reporters stand between the people and tyranny every freaking day. Our only check on the WH now that Republican majority in Congress has abdicated its oath of office to the Constitution.

I apologize for confusing the issue.

I was just noting that Putin's purges began when the oligarchs started buying news media and emptying the newsrooms of "opposition" journalists. Today's action could be seen as a continuation of what has happened at the Daily News.

In Nevada we have one major Newspaper and that is owned by Sheldon Adelson. Yes there are a couple coupon rags running around, but they owned by the other Major Right wing Group Gannett. There is a insert to the Review Journal owned by a fellow named Grenspun who tends to bolster us Dems here in Nevada. And of course, most to the Radio TV Stations are Sinclair owned and the one is owned by Nexstar who is running more and more right wing.

He would take that as a victory. This administration has diluted the press corps by credentialing stooges, shills and fakes and allowing them privileges. Credentialing authority used to belong to the peer organization, the White House Correspondents Association, and needs to be returned to that governing entity. Reporters covering Congress have access codified in law. WH press has no such protection, and that needs fixing. See FB page "People's Bill Of Rights For White House Transparency."

Welcome to the chorus of voices that have been shouting for this for more than a year and a half. Unfortunately, private citizens in far-flung and isolated locales around the United States aren't very effective in petitioning this administration in particular for redress of this grievance. Now that you're on board, at last, CNN, here's our question to you when the White House ignores your demand:

What are you going to do about it?

A couple of suggestions, offered for free, and worth every penny: Quit covering this doofus live. Tape whatever it is he'd like you to interrupt live programming for, and see if there's anything actually newsworthy. If not, then report that. Sample script: "The president held a press availability today on the South Lawn of the White House. He said nothing of substance." Then move on. Fact check him live. "Today, the president claimed without any evidence that his administration has been tougher on Russia than anyone. Stay tuned for weather."

Get the picture?

Stop breathlessly reporting every tweet, too. None of them are newsworthy, just juvenile name-calling and lies.

Start reporting more on the real policies being enacted by this administration that are designed to hurt people as well. Don't focus on the everyday soap opera going on in Trump world.
